Our Story

Since 2012, Cloud 9 Community Farms has been a beacon of hope in Philadelphia, transforming rooftops into vibrant gardens where community members unite to cultivate food, share knowledge, and foster resilience. Originally known as Cloud 9 Rooftop Farm, this nonprofit organization merged with Urbanstead in 2020, enhancing its capacity to deliver impactful youth gardening leadership and community-led food access programs. Together, they create a sustainable future through environmental stewardship and community engagement.

Our Impact

Cloud 9 operates a community-led Food Pantry at Guild House West, serving low-income seniors every Tuesday and Thursday. Additionally, the organization maintains rain gardens at The Haverford Triangle, contributing to Philadelphia's environmental health through the Soak It Up Adoption Program.
