Our Story

Founded in 1983 by Jodi Thurmond and Marty Long, Seneca Academy began as the Circle School, dedicated to providing an exceptional academic program for their children. Over the years, it has transformed into a fully authorized International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program World School, serving children from age two through fifth grade in Darnestown, Maryland. The school emphasizes fostering children's natural curiosity and igniting a love of learning through a collaborative, inquiry-based program.
