Our Story
Established in 1984, the Child Assault Prevention Project of Washoe County is dedicated to addressing child abuse through education and empowerment. This nonprofit organization focuses on equipping children and families with the knowledge to break the cycle of abuse.
Impact
In 2023, Washoe County reported over 6,088 cases of child abuse and neglect. Alarmingly, 80% of child abuse incidents go unreported. CAP aims to change this narrative by fostering awareness and prevention.
