Our Story
The Carmel Clay Historical Society was established in 1975 by passionate residents during the nation’s Bicentennial celebration. This dedicated group focuses on preserving the rich history of Carmel and Clay Township. The society operates the historic 1883 Monon Railroad Depot as a museum and is excited to open the Carmel Clay History Museum in 2024, which will serve as a hub for community history and storytelling.

With over 250,000 historical photos preserved, CCHS plays a vital role in educating the community about its heritage through various events and programs.
