Our Story

Founded in 2011, Capital Area Rescue Effort, Inc. (C.A.R.E.) is dedicated to rescuing dogs that have been abandoned, orphaned, or abused in the Richmond, Virginia area. Each dog is treated as a client, with a focus on understanding their individual needs to ensure they find safe and loving permanent homes.

Our Impact

C.A.R.E. provides comprehensive veterinary care, including examinations, spay/neuter surgeries, microchips, vaccinations, and heartworm testing. Serious medical issues are addressed without passing costs onto adopters, ensuring every dog receives the care they deserve.
