Our Story

In 1989, five concerned landowners in the Cacapon watershed united to address the threats of unplanned development. This collaboration led to the establishment of the Cacapon & Lost Rivers Land Trust in 1990, which gained nonprofit status in 1995. Since then, the organization has successfully protected over 14,000 acres of land, fostering a deep connection between people and their environment.

The Cacapon & Lost Rivers Land Trust has made a significant impact by permanently safeguarding over 14,000 acres, enhancing the quality of life for local communities and preserving the natural beauty of the Cacapon and Lost Rivers Watershed.
