Our Story

The Alliance Française de San Francisco, established in 1889 by four visionary journalists, is the first chapter of the Alliance Française in the United States. Since its inception, it has been dedicated to offering exceptional French language education and cultural experiences. After merging with the Bibliothèque Française post the 1906 San Francisco fires, it has continued to thrive at its current location on 1345 Bush Street.
