EIN: 94-3061583 · Oakland, CA
Our Story
AIDS Project of the East Bay (APEB) was founded in 1983 by Dr. Robert C. Scott, who recognized the urgent need for education and support during the early days of the AIDS epidemic. From providing safer sex information in his clinic to reaching out in public spaces, APEB has evolved into a comprehensive provider of sexual health education, testing, and treatment services. Today, APEB continues to prioritize the needs of marginalized communities in Alameda County.
Impact
APEB’s mission is to prevent new HIV infections and support individuals living with the virus. By offering culturally sensitive and non-judgmental services, APEB ensures that all individuals in Alameda County have access to the care they need.
